Inergen (IG-541) Suppression Systems
Inergen suppresses fire by reducing the oxygen concentration in the protected space from 21% to approximately 12.5%, a level that cannot sustain combustion but remains breathable for building occupants during evacuation. It is composed entirely of gases naturally present in the atmosphere: 52% nitrogen, 40% argon and 8% CO2.

Yes. Inergen reduces oxygen to approximately 12.5%, which suppresses fire but remains breathable. The CO2 component actually stimulates breathing, helping occupants evacuate safely. It is one of the safest suppression agents for occupied spaces.
Choose Inergen when environmental impact is a priority, when protecting very large spaces (where chemical agents become expensive), or when you want a suppression agent with unlimited shelf life. FM200 is typically more cost-effective for smaller rooms.
Inergen is stored as compressed gas at 200 or 300 bar, requiring more cylinder storage than chemical agents. We design the cylinder bank location during the planning phase to minimise the footprint while maintaining accessibility for maintenance.
